Public service has been at the top of Diana's work.
Filled with purpose and love for her Fort Myers Community she has been involved in multiple projects as a volunteer.
She lead non profit Streets Alive of SWFL since 2012 providing bicycle and pedestrian safety education to the community, reaching out 30K + residents in the Fort Myers area, she was instrumental in the added road safety improvements alongside Ford St and Edison Ave and Franklin Park Elementary, and has been able to advocate for completion of sidewalks around many schools, completion of Six Mile Cypress share use path, new design of Edison Av., Palomino Lane among many other projects in the City.
She continues this quest for equitable infrastructure for sidewalks and bicycle safety for all, contributed to the bike/ped master plan creation and serves as the Chair of the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Board in the City.
Diana has been part of the Fort Myers community for 18 years, volunteering and advocating for a more equitable Fort Myers.
She is a former City of Fort Myers employee with education and background in architecture, urban design and community development with over 25 years of experience. These skills will complement the current make up of the City Council.
She WILL be the first Latina in the race to eventually become your next WARD 2 councilperson in the
City of Fort Myers representing over 27% Latinos in the area.
Diana's experience goes beyond the government and non-profit sectors, she runs a successful Minority/Women-Owned Certified consulting company operating in the heart Fort Myers.
Government, Nonprofit, & Private sector experience needed in the City's leadership!
Diana has been an active advocate of diversity & inclusion.
She has been a speaker in front of City Council and also has been a keynote speaker for the Fort Myers Women's March showcasing her leadership and understanding of local community challenges that include all City residents.
Diana was one of the founding members of the City of Fort Myers Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Committee 2019.
Diana has been a speaker mentor for WETES, Dress for Success, and has been a mentor to many students and young professionals in the area.
She is passionate about her community and serves in the City of Fort Myers Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Board, Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors, Horizon Council Foundation & UF IFAS Extension Advisory Board.
